The invention relates to a process for producing self-lubricating heat-resisting polyamides to be processed by injection, which consists in pre-mixing 100 parts of epsilon-caprolactams, 0.3 ...2 parts water in order to initiate the hydrolytic polymerization, 1 ...10 parts self-lubricating additives, micronised or as paste, prepared by grinding in epsilon-caprolactam medium, 0.005 ...0.06 parts copper as copper salts resulted from the reaction in aqueous solution of the stoichiometric mixture copper salt - alkaline halide or copper salts, insoluble in water, previously ground or dispersed in epsilon-caprolactams, at a temperature of 80 ..110 degree C, the polymerization takes place further in the reaction chamber with static mixture at a temperature of 240...270 degree C. The resulting polymer is subjected to extraction in order to remove the unreacted monomer and further to drying at a temperature ranging from 100 to 150 degree C in nitrogen flow or in vacuum. A good dispersion of the additives is ensured directly in the polymerization process, without removing the dispersed substances during the extraction stage or during the conditioning treatments of the parts manufactured by injection.
