COMMON PACKET CHANNEL COMMUNICATION APPARATUS AND METHOD IN CDMA COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A common packet channel communication apparatus and method in a CDMA communication system is provided to efficiently use a resource related to a common packet channel by collectively managing the resource related to the common packet channel and allocating the managed resource. CONSTITUTION: An AICH(Acquisition Indication Channel) demodulator(711) receives AICH signals of a forward link transmitted from an AICH generator and demodulates the received AICH signals. A controller(720) designates a channel of each demodulator(711) for receiving an AP(Access Preamble)-AICH, a CD(Collision Detection)-AICH, and a CA(Channel Assignment)-AICH transmitted from a base station. A data and control signal processor(713) receives a data or a control signal received through a channel designated by the controller(720) and processes the received data or control signal. A channel estimator(715) estimates the intensity of a signal transmitted from the base station and received to a forward link and controls a phase compensation and gain of the data and control signal processor(713). The controller(720) controls the generation of the AP and CD when accessing the base station and processes the AICH signals transmitted from the base station. A preamble generator(731) generates the AP and CD under the controller(720) and outputs the generated AP and CD. A frame formatter(733) receives the AP and CD outputted from the preamble generator(731) and packet data and pilot signals of a reverse link and formats the received AP and CD and the packet data and pilot signals, and controls a transmission power of the inverse link by a power control signal outputted from the controller(720).
