PURPOSE: To provide document data corresponding to a reverse retrieval from a user side. CONSTITUTION: The terminal equipment transmits feature information showing the features of designated electronic document or sorting item to the document providing device. The document providing device retrieves an electronic document related with the feature information out of electronic documents registered in a data base and transmits information related to the retrieved electronic document such as electronic document or list information thereof, for example, to the terminal equipment.
