1,085,978. Raising liquid in a tube for analysis. S. MONN. Aug. 4, 1965 [Aug. 5, 1964], No. 33296/65. Heading B1X. A calibrated measuring tube 10 is filled with blood from a container 20 for analysis by inserting the tube into the container which has an inwardly projecting annular resilient sealing lip 23 of smaller inner diameter than the external diameter of the tube, the lip forming a liquid tight seal between the tube and the container and preventing blood from escaping along the outer surface of the tube 10 so that the displaced blood rises inwardly in the tube. The tube 10 is pushed into the container 20 until the blood rises to reference mark 11, the elastic stress of the lip 23 automatically locking the tube in position. Reinforcing ribs 25, 26 constitute supparts for the container when placed in a holder (Fig. 5, not shown). A funnel-like mouth 24 facilitates the introduction of the tube. The entire container may be of resilient rubber-like material, with its internal diameter greater than the external diameter of the tube.
|
