Warning system to avoid hazards on a motorway is provided by roadside units transmitting speed control data to vehicles

The system uses units located along a motorway at regular intervals, e.g. 1,5 km. Each unit allows activation by the police to indicate advised speed. Vehicles receive the data remotely on in-vehicle units. This can be acoustic and visible and indicates appropriate speed reduction when approaching a hazard.
