In a detachable shaft-hub circular wedge joint, the outer face of the shaft is in contact with the inner surface of the hub via a series of interlocking peaks and troughs on each surface. The shaft and hub are made of different materials. The component with the harder material with an radial ridge which during operation becomes embedded in the other component, preventing axial slippage.
