The wall mounting strip for a shower screen comprises a U-profile mounting rail (1). The arms of a wider U-profile (2) fit over the arms of the first. A fixing block (3) is positioned between the arms of the mounting rail, which have a wedge shape with the wider ends at the top of the arms. An adjusting screw (4) the block to be moved, so that the arms of the mounting rail are pressed against those of the second profile. The adjusting screw can be accessed via a bore (6) in the second profile.
