Manufacture of functional module with sealed connections brought out externally, over-injects twice, first with sealant plastic, then with casing material

Sealant material is applied over and completely around a section of each conductor (20) to form a seal (30). A further material is injection molded around the seal, forming a wall (12). An independent claim is included for the modular unit so produced and constructed. Preferred features: During over-injection of the seal, between seal and wall a mixed region (60) of the two materials and/or a region of deformation are produced. The conductors, of any cross section, are preferably metal, to form an electrical connection. The modular unit (10) is a casing or casing component to accommodate electrical-, electronic- and/or mechanical components. The components are completely encapsulated with the sealant and the wall material then completely surrounds this, the conductors connecting between the components and the exterior. Either or both applications are achieved by injection molding. In the modular unit, the conductor is an electrical, fluidically (hydrodynamically) and/or thermally-conductive line.
