The cigarette lighter has a housing (1) with a base (2), a vertical bar through the base, and a hole (4) in the base for a cigarette to pass through. A specially manufactured circular cigarette box (5) pushed over the bar has six open chambers, each containing a cigarette. A toothed rim (7) on the bottom of the box meshes with a toothed gear (8) in the housing. When the lighter is closed, the box is turned by the gear, a cigarette drops into a funnel (9) onto a heating grid (11) above a ventilator (13), and a switch closes an electric circuit to light the cigarette. After a minute, a diode indicates that the cigarette is lit.
