The under-decking for a building fire shield has cover panels (1) of fire resistant material each formed of upper (4) and lower (5) panels of silicate fibre. The panels define inner volumes (8) which are defined along each side by fire resistant beams (6). The beams can be screwed or clamped in place with the panels.
