The cushioning and insulating material is made up of spheres manufactured from plastic sheet. These consist of an upper and lower half (A, B) welded together along the center line (C) of the sphere and may be made from sheet of different thickness, according to the load they are required to bear. Independent claims are included for: (a) sheets consisting of the spheres connected together; and (b) a method for manufacturing them.
