The invention relates to a toothbrush (10) comprising a brush head (12) and a housing (14). An electric motor (16) for driving the brush head (12) and a battery (18) for supplying power to the electric motor (16) are arranged inside said housing (14). A signaling function (20) is also provided. The toothbrush can be coupled to a charging part (22), which can be connected to the power supply network (24) and which is provided for charging the battery (18). A coupling and/or decoupling of the charging part (22) and housing (14) is detected by a sensor function (26), whereby the sensor function (26) activates the signaling function (20) upon detecting a coupling and/or decoupling.
