A ventilator for a flat roof, comprises a ventilator pipe (4) and a conical sleeve (6) fitted at its base where it passes through the roof. The space (13) between the top of the sleeve and the pipe is filled with sealant (14) and a mat (8) is fitted over the top of the sleeve and stuck or welded to the roof covering (3) around a fixing plate (5).
