The device incorporates a ventilation unit, to add air to the shower water. The unit (2) is positioned upstream between the water tap (1) and a connection part (40) of the water supply pipe (4). It is formed as an adapter with upstream connection thread and downstream connector for pref. a shower hose. The adapter has an axial water jet nozzle and an intake bore with regulator ring (23).
