The chuck (1) has at least two clamping pads with a pad (9) and an adjustable base pad (8) in radial guide holders, set by a clamping rod (6) which slides axially through the chuck body (2). The two pads (8,9) are fitted with grooves (10) to come flush together, with a centering unit with reversible distortion as a hollow roller fitted into the base pad (8). The grooves (10) in both pads (8,9) have a V-shape.
