PURPOSE: To improve utilization efficiency of illuminating light and to effectively avoid luminance irregularity even when a primary light source is composed of plural point light sources by being applied to a surface light source device or the like constituted so as to emit illuminating light in the front direction of an emitted surface even if sheet material correcting the directivity of emitted light is not arranged with respect to a light transmission plate, a surface light source device and a display device. CONSTITUTION: Plural projections 19, having at least a pair of slopes forming a ridge line and crossing so as to approach the surface facing the emitted surface as it is separated from an incident surface, are formed in the surface 15B facing the emitted surface, and the directions of the projections 19 are set so that a pair of ridge lines 19E of the slope turn to the direction of the incident surface 15C provided in one corner in respective sections in which the projection 19 is formed.
