PURPOSE: A backlight unit for LCD device is provided to minimize a loss of light by forming a reflective mirror layer at a rear portion of a light guide plate. CONSTITUTION: A light source(30) has a lamp member(32) parallel to both incident faces of a light guide plate member(40), a reflective member(34) for reflecting light from the lamp member(32) to the incident faces, and a drive circuit(36) for driving the lamp member(32). The lamp member(32) is installed at one side of both incident faces of the light guide plate member(40). The reflective member(34) is arranged to a longitudinal direction of the lamp member(32). The reflective member(34) is located at a rear portion of the lamp member(32). The drive circuit(36) has an inverter and provides power to the lamp member(32). |
