PURPOSE: A refrigerator is provided to effectively prevent frost formation in the cooling air duct and reduce manufacturing cost by improving the structure of damper. CONSTITUTION: A refrigerator comprises a main body(1) having a freezing compartment(10) and a refrigerating compartment(11); an evaporator(27) arranged at the rear of the freezing compartment; a cooling air duct(15) for forming a cooling air guide channel(16) for guiding the cooling air from the evaporator into the refrigerating compartment; a blower fan(30) having a fan motor(33) with a variable rotation speed and a fan blade(31) installed to the rotation shaft of the fan motor, and which blows the cooling air from the evaporator to the cooling air duct; a gravity damper(40) installed to be rotatable in an outlet area(18) of the cooling air guide channel; and a control unit for opening/shutting the gravity damper by controlling rotation speed of the blower fan.
