PURPOSE: An apparatus for bonding outer shells to a tennis ball is provided to rapidly bond two outer shells at an accurate position on the outer surface of the ball so that the outer shells are symmetric with respect to each other. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for bonding an outer shell(2) to a rubber ball(3) consists of a flat member(4), a wrinkle forming bonding part(9), a curved surface bonding part(13) installed at the end of the wrinkle bonding part, and a reciprocating pressure member(15). The flat member is used to support the outer shell applied with an adhesive. The flat member is horizontally installed to guide the rubber ball along the longitudinal direction of the outer shell. The wrinkle forming bonding part is formed with an arc shaped piece(10) at regular distances. The arc shaped piece comprises a compression surface(12) having a curvature same with a curvature of the outer shell tightly contacting the surface of the rubber ball. Therefore, as the rubber ball attached with the outer shell passes the compression surface of the arc shaped piece, the both ends of the outer shell is discontinuously compressed on the surface of the rubber ball in wrinkled form. The curved surface bonding part has a rounded surface having a curvature same with the curvature of the compression surface. The reciprocating pressure member serves to compress the rubber ball to move it linearly.
