PURPOSE: Provided is a resin composition of rubber reinforced polystylene copolymer and polyphenylene ether resin blend and oxa phosphorane-based fire retardant. The composition is environmentally safe because it does not use conventional halogen-based fire retardant. It meets the fire retardant specification and is used as exterior material for the electronic products. CONSTITUTION: The composition comprises 30-90wt. parts rubber reinforced polystyrene resin (A) being produced by polymerizing rubber, monoalkenyl monomer and/or alkylester monomer, 70-10wt. parts polyphenylene ether resin (B) such as poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene)ether, 1-25wt. parts, based on 100wt. parts of (A)+(B), oxa phosphorane compounds such as 2-methyl-2,5-dioxo-1-oxa-2-phosphorane and other additives such as plasticizer, heat and light stabilizer, anti-oxidant, compatibilizer, pigment and dye and/or inorganic additives for each special use. |
