<p>Objects of the present invention are to provide a porous member with sufficient strength, used for a gas generator for an air bag, which can be produced easily and inexpensively, and to provide a gas generator which can be produced inexpensively using these advantageous members. A gas generator for an air bag comprises in a cylindrical housing thereof with a plurality of gas discharge ports, an ignition means to be activated on an impact and gas generating means which is to be ignited and burnt by said ignition means and generate a combustion gas, wherein a molded product of a porous plate such as an expanded metal formed into a cylindrical shape by winding a porous plate member annularly is disposed in said housing coaxially. <IMAGE></p> |
