COMPOSITION FOR SHIELDING ULTRAVIOLET RAYS CONTAINING ZINC OXIDE-COATED TITANIUM OXIDE COMPOSITE FINE PARTICLES

PURPOSE: An inorganic-based composition for shielding ultraviolet rays containing ZnO-coated TiO2 composite fine particles as an active shielding component is provided, which can shield ultraviolet rays A(wavelength; 320 to 400nm) and ultraviolet rays B(wavelength; 290 to 320nm) simultaneously. CONSTITUTION: The composition for shielding ultraviolet rays contains ZnO-coated TiO2 composite fine particles having a mean particle diameter of 180 to 550nm and a carrier, wherein the composite fine particles are obtained by reacting ZnO sol and TiO2 seed having a mean particle diameter of 50 to 500nm at 50 to 70deg.C for 1 to 3 hr and aging at ordinary temperature for 20 to 30 min.
