An ink jet recording material is disclosed comprising a support and an ink receiving layer wherein said ink receiving layer comprises (a) a pigment, (b) a silanol modified polyvinyl alcohol, and (c) a film-forming polymer having a glass transition temperature lower than 50 DEG C. The recording element is especially suited for outdoor use.
