New pigment coloring agent is anthraquinone derivative (I). A pigment coloring agent is anthraquinone derivative of formula (I). [Image] R 11-6C alkyl, 1-6C alkoxy, phenoxy or halogen; R 2hydrogen, 1-6C alkyl, 1-6C alkoxy, phenoxy, halogen, acylamino or -CH 2NH acyl or compound of formula (II); R 31-6C alkyl, 1-6C alkoxy, phenoxy or halogen; ring A : -SO 3->M +>or optionally substituted with -SO 3->M +>; M : cation; rings B and C : unsubstituted or mono or polysubstituted by halogen, hydroxyl group, -SH, amino, 1-6C alkyl amino, 1-6C alkyl, 1-6C alkoxy, phenoxy, acylamino, 1-6C thio alkyl or thio phenyl; and ring B : optionally substituted by compound of formula (III), at 5th or 8th position. Independent claims are also included for the following: (i) Manufacture of pigment coloring agent (I), which involves reacting 1-chloro, 1-nitro or 1-sulfo-anthraquinone with 1 equivalent of compound of formula (IIa) in presence of alkyl acetate, copper and/or copper salt, in an organic solvent, (OR) 1,5- or 1,8-dichloro, 1,5- or 1,8-dinitro or 1,5- or 1,8-disulfo anthraquinone is reacted with 2 equivalents of compound of formula (IIa) in presence of alkylacetate and copper and/or copper salt, in organic solvent. A suitable substituent is introduced into the formed compound by conventional methods if necessary; (ii) Coloring of synthetic material which involves coloring the material using the pigment coloring agent; (iii) Use of pigment coloring agent in coloring of synthetic material; and (iv) Synthetic material colored with pigment coloring agent. |
