Apparatus for identifying user activities at a workstation, which workstation is arranged to receive input from at least one input device, the apparatus comprising: (i) monitoring means for monitoring a plurality of predetermined sets of user inputs over a period of time, which inputs are provided via the input device; (ii) means for quantifying results of the monitoring into a plurality of data sets; and (iii) processing means for comparing the quantified results with predetermined threshold values and processing the same in accordance with one or more predetermined rules so as to identify the user activity.
