PURPOSE: A device for switching a channel of digital TV is provided to minimize a delay time due to the acquisition of PSIP(Program and System Information Protocol) and a demultiplexing in channel switchover by renewing previous PID(Program IDentity) information according to a channel shifted recently. CONSTITUTION: A PID recording unit(50) records PID information output from a decoder(30) and outputs the PID information as previous PID information in channel switchover. A PID monitoring unit(40) monitors a transport stream to collect PID information in channel switchover and outputs the collected result as current PID information. A PID comparing unit(60) compares the current PID information with the previous PID information. A PID setting unit(70) sets up the PID information to get a demultiplexor(10) to extract an A/V(Audio/Video) PES(Packeted Elementary Stream).
