PURPOSE: An electric connector equipped with a conductive shielding unit is provided to prevent the short circuit of a terminal by firmly fixing the shielding unit in the rear part of the connector. CONSTITUTION: An electric connector(40) includes an insulating housing(42), conductive terminals(44) furnished within the housing and a conductive shielding unit(46). The insulating housing includes a base and at least one fitting block extended from the base. The terminals are mounted in terminal cavities of the housing. Each terminal has a tip(58) protruded from the base of the housing. The conductive shielding unit includes many panels(62,64,66,68) forming an inner cavity to accept the housing. At least one of the panels serves as a connecting face close to at least one of the fitting blocks. At least one of the fitting blocks prevents the shielding unit from being moved to the housing. In addition, at least one of the fitting blocks has the size for keeping the space of the shielding unit from the conductive terminal.
