PURPOSE: An automatic water gate is provided to control the water level of reservoir water to the wanted height effectively by controlling the extent of opening and closing a water gate freely by several hydraulic cylinders. CONSTITUTION: An automatic water gate comprises: walls(1) erected on the both sides of a watercourse; a main water gate(2) of a hollow rectangular plate shape arranged between the walls; two pairs of cylinders(4,14,24,34) whose longitudinal ends are fixed to the wall movably and the other ends are fixed to the main water gate movably; and a water lever sensor(6) for sensing the water level of reservoir water, so that the extending extent of cylinders is controlled according to the water level sensed by the water level sensor to increase the water level of reservoir water to the wanted height or to keep regularly.
