<p>An orthodontic appliance designed to permit a stopper member to be reliably secured by caulking to a wire at a desired position, and thus to be maintained fixed to the wire for long periods of time, and further designed to insure an urging force of an urging member on a tooth to be treated for correction. The orthodontic appliance according to the present invention includes: guide brackets fixedly adhered to either the obverse or reverse sides of a plurality of teeth including a tooth to be treated for correction; an arcuately curved wire held against the respective guide brackets; a stopper member fixed by caulking to the wire at a required position in a longitudinal direction of the wire; and, an urging member cooperative with the stopper member for urging one end of the wire in a direction toward a curvedly convex portion of the wire, the improvement wherein the stopper member comprises an annular metal or alloy body block with or without a cutout, the body block having an engagement-through passage formed therein, through which the wire is inserted, and a wire-grasping member portion made of a super-resilient alloy material, the wire-grasping member portion being received in a wall of the engagement-through passage. <IMAGE></p> |
