PURPOSE: An electron gun sphere of color cathode ray tube is provided to realize a high-resolution image by minimizing the misconvergence between a center beam and a side beam because the deflection between the center and the side beams could be eliminated by reinforcing an anti-magnetic field of the side beam. CONSTITUTION: A cathode ray tube comprises a cathode, a control electrode, and a screen electrode which are forming a triode, a plurality of focusing and anode electrodes forming a primary lens, and a shield cup for shielding external magnetic and electric fields. The shield cup is made of a base plate(701) and a rim(702). The base plate(701) includes a center beam passing hole(703) with a circle shape and a side beam passing hole(704,705) with a rectangular shape. A barrier(706) of a diamagnetic material is integrated with the side beam passing hole(704,705). The barrier(706) is formed on the top and bottom of the side beam passing hole(704,705).
