PURPOSE: To obtain an air conditioner and an outdoor machine and a refrigerating device using a refrigerating cycle with high reliability in which consumed power is reduced with high efficiency and which can be driven by a commercial power supply. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner comprising a refrigerating cycle comprising a compressor 1 driven by a motor, an outdoor heat exchanger 3 and an indoor heat exchanger 7. The motor is located in a motor chamber in a closed container. Refrigerant gas in the refrigerating cycle passes through the motor. The motor includes a cage type conductor and a bipolarly-magnetized permanent magnet in the iron core of a rotor. The motor is driven by a commercial power supply.
