<p>The invention comprises mixed chromium complex dyes of the general formula [I = Cr = II]-K+ wherein I stands for the residue of a monoazo dye of the general formula <FORM:0992567/C4-C5/1> in whic R represents an unsubstituted or substituted sulphonic acid amide group, II represents the residue of a monoazo dyestuff of the formula <FORM:0992567/C4-C5/2> and K+ means a monovalent cation. The complexes are prepared by chroming a mixture of appropriate dyes or by reacting a 1: 1 chromium complex of one such dye and reacting it with another unmetallized dye. A 1: 1-chromium complex for use in the process may be prepared by the method of Specification 272,908 and the reaction of a 1: 1 chromium complex with a metal free dye may be carried out according to the process of Specification 987,466. Examples describe the preparation of dyes of the above general formula in which R represents the sulphonamide radical and corresponding compounds substituted at the sulphonamide nitrogen by one or two methyl groups or the isopropyl group. The dyes are suitable for dyeing wool, silk, polyamide and polyurethane fibres.</p> |
