PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protein having an activity as a factor belonging to an IL-family useful for the search and development of a treating agent of diseases associated with the IL-1, a DNA encoding the above protein, an antibody recognizing the above protein and a method for utilizing these. SOLUTION: This protein is a protein belonging to the IL family containing a specific human origin amino acid sequence and includes a protein having an amino acid sequence in which >=1 amino acids are lost, substituted and/or added in the above protein and having a higher binding affinity to a receptor of a protein belonging to the IL-1 family than that of Tango-77; a protein containing an amino acid sequence having >=60% homology with the amino acid sequence of the above protein and having a higher binding affinity to the receptor of a protein belonging to the IL-1 family than that of Tango-77; and a protein recognized by a monoclonal antibody produced by a hybridoma FERM BP-7368 and not recognized by a monoclonal antibody produced by a hybridoma FERM BP-7369.
