PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a label printer with a high memory utilization efficiency, capable of displaying the origin of a merchandise label with a good operation efficiency. SOLUTION: This device comprises an origin file for storing a large number of origin data to be accessed freely, a history buffer for accessing merchandise data from a merchandise file and for storing the origin data for each merchandise at the time of accessing the origin data, to be accessed freely, a history display means for displaying a plurality of origin data from the history buffer at the time of accessing the merchandise data, and a setting means for accessing the corresponding origin data in the case one of the plurality of the origin data displayed by the history display means is designated, and setting the same as printing data.
