PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict driving resistance to a belt and prevent the leakage of carried objects. SOLUTION: This structure of a skirt portion of a belt conveyor comprises opposed introduction plates 6 arranged above the belt 3 in the cross direction of the belt 3 and a blocking member 7 extended from the introduction plates 6 to the belt 3 for blocking a gap between the belt 3 and each of the introduction plates 6. A second blocking member 13 is provided outside the blocking member 7 in the cross direction so as to be spaced from the blocking member 7 and suspended down to the belt 3.
