FR901228 or a salt thereof used in the present invention as an active ingredient shows not only in vitro but in vivo superior potentiation of a expression of a transgene and promotion of the reactivation of the transgene. Therefore, it can be advantageously used in clinical situations, particularly for a gene therapy.
