PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a floating space by surely floating a vacuum cleaner main body away from a floor surface. SOLUTION: This vacuum cleaner is provided with the vacuum cleaner main body 1 incorporating a dust collecting chamber 6 and a motor housing chamber 12 having an electric blower 11 for sucking air in the chamber 6, and a floating member 26 provided at the bottom of the main body 1 to float the main body 1 away from the floor surface X by the exhaust of the blower 11. The member 26 consists of a floating balloon 30, which is fitted to the bottom of the main body 1 to take in the exhaust of the blower 11 to swell to discharge the exhaust toward the surface X, a skirt 31 suspended at the outer periphery of the bottom of the balloon 30 and a pressure adjusting skirt 33 provided on the bottom surface of the balloon 30 for adjusting the exhaust discharged to the surface X from the floating port 38 of the balloon 30 so that its exhaust pressure may always be larger than the atmospheric pressure to discharge it to outside.
