<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process to easily and economically prepare, a vanish containing a resin which, as a resin for a printing ink, does not use formaldehyde for its resin source material in the synthesizing process, possesses properties of a high molecular weight, a high viscosity and a high softening point and has an excellent print suitability. SOLUTION: The resin vanish for a printing ink is prepared by synthesizing a resin for printing ink by heat reacting a rosin, anα,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid or its anhydrite, an aliphatic polybasic acid, a polyhydric alcohol in a system containing an ink solvent, and simultaneously mixing uniformly the obtained resin and the ink solvent. In the heating reaction, optionally, a drying oil and/or a gelling agent can be added to the reaction system.</p> |
