PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a uniform and stable picture pattern, character pattern, and symbol pattern without impairing the senses of beauty and value as surface decorations for various equipment made of metal. SOLUTION: This surface decoration machining method comprises a polishing process by machining a mirror face, a first washing process for washing a surface of a substrate material for various equipment after polishing, a quality inspection process for checking quality after polishing, a plating treatment process, a forming treatment process for forming crepey surface patterns such as picture pattern, character pattern, symbol pattern, etc., on a surface, a second washing process for washing the surface after forming treatment, and a forming treatment inspection process for checking a formation condition of the crepey surface patterns by forming treatment. The forming treatment process comprises a pattern-drawn film bonding process for bonding a pattern-drawn film member 2 drawn from the pattern and molded, a protective cover covering process for covering the surface except the pattern-drawn film member 2 after bonding with a protective cover 8, a sand blast process for applying sand blast to bonding sections of the pattern-drawn film member 2, and a removal process for removing the protective cover 8 and the pattern-drawn film member 2.
