PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat treatment deformation control method capable of suppressing the heat treatment deformation in a hardening treatment of members and a coolability measuring instrument capable of strictly measuring coolability. SOLUTION: This heat treatment deformation control method suppresses the variation in the heat treatment deformation which arises in the members by putting the coolability of a cooling liquid to be used within a specified range when the members are subjected to the hardening treatment by using the cooling liquid.
