PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide magnesium hydroxide granules which have high hardness and excellent collapsability after fertilized and can profitably be produced. SOLUTION: The magnesium hydroxide granules which are useful for fertilizer and in whose X-ray diffraction pattern a peak corresponding to magnesium sulfate hexahydrate does not appear, obtained by mixing 20 to 50 pts.wt. of granular magnesium hydroxide having a granule diameter of 0.5 to 5 mm and 50 to 80 pts.wt. of powdery magnesium hydroxide having a particle diameter of <0.5 mm with 3 to 15 pts.wt. of sulfuric acid having a concentration of 3 to 18 mole/L so that the total amount of the components is 100 pts.wt.
