<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a water stop composition having high water absorbing velocity and capable of easily being handled. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by adding a highly water-absorbing resin in an amount of 5-200 pts.wt. to 100 pts.wt. of an expanded rubber substrate or an expanded resin. Water is promptly infiltrated into the rubber substance or the resin and thereby the highly water-absorbing resin is effectively acted because the rubber substance or the resin is expanded to form voids. Furthermore, since the rubber substance or the resin is not in an unvulcanized state, the compound has the advantage having high water absorbing velocity and capable of providing the water stop composition with easy handling.</p> |
