<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify an element structure of a self-scanning type light emitting element array in a type wherein a transmission section and an emission section are separated with each other. SOLUTION: The light emitting elements in a light emitting section are divided into groups including two light emitting elements and cathodes of two light emitting elements in each group are connected to a first write signal lineϕI1 and a second write signal lineϕI2, respectively. As a result of the above structure, the number of the write signal line is increased, but the number of light emitting points which are simultaneously activated becomes two. In the above structure, even when gate electrodes of two thyristors in the light emitting section which are connected to identical thyristors in the transmission section are not separated, it is possible to simplify the structure of the element and to reduce a chip in size in the structure wherein the two cathode islands are placed on a common island of the gates.</p> |
