PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reuse by grinding the electrode body of a plasma torch of electrode back surface cooling, to maintain a distance between a nozzle and the tip end of the electrode in a prescribed value and also to maintain a uniform electrode cooling capability. SOLUTION: In the plasma torch 1 of electrode back surface cooling having a nozzle member 2 in the tip end of which the nozzle 3 is provided and an electrode body 4 consisting of a water cooling sleeve 6 and an electrode bar 5, a supporting pedestal 7 which movably guides the electrode body 4 in the direction approaching the nozzle 3, chucks 8, 9 for fixing the electrode body 4 to the supporting pedestal 7, and a tubular body 10 which feeds cooling water into the sleeve 6 and the tip end of which is inserted into the sleeve are prepared. The tubular body 10 is movable in the direction approaching the nozzle 3, a water passing port 11 penetrating the side wall of the tubular body 10 is provided in the tip end part abutting on the hole bottom of the sleeve 6, and the tubular body 10 is pressed by a spring member 12.
