INTER-BTS DIVERSITY FUNCTION AND SOFT HANDOFF METHOD IN IP-BASED IMT-2000 SYSTEM

PURPOSE: An inter-BTS DVF(DiVersity Function) and a soft handoff method in an IP(Internet Protocol)-based IMT-2000 system are provided to embody a DVF executing a frame selection function and to execute an effective soft handoff by connecting the DVF and a BTS through a direct path. CONSTITUTION: BTSs(101-103), provided with DVFs(101a-103a) respectively, interface data with mobile stations by wireless. Each BTS(101-103) combines a plurality of channel signals through its internal DVF and executes a frame selection function. A LAN gateway(200) is in charge of connection with a LAN network. A feature server(72) covers call processing. A call control function part(73) executes a call processing control function. A roaming gateway(74) carries out a connection function with a 2G network. A packet gateway(75) is for connection with an Internet network.
