<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure capable of applying a proper pre-load to a double row rolling bearing after combining a constant velocity joint with the double row rolling bearing with sufficient strength, in a hub unit. SOLUTION: In this hub unit, a flange part 35 in the outer ring 32 of a constant velocity joint 3 and the outside inner ring 21A of a double row rolling bearing 2 are stopped from rotating by a projecting and recessed engagement part, and as to a caulking load, it is controlled only in consideration of simply stopping the two inner rings 21A, 21B of the double row rolling bearing 2 from being pulled out and applying a proper pre-load to the double row rolling bearing 2. Thereby, motive power is efficiently and reliably transmitted to a wheel attached to the outside inner ring 21A of the double row rolling bearing 2, which is not shown in the figure, from a shaft 6 linked to the constant velocity joint 3, even without setting the caulking load more strongly than required as in the case of past examples.</p> |
