PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control paper feeding action by a simple mechansim. SOLUTION: On a control shaft 5, a hopper cam 21, driven roller units 40, 41, a separation pad unit 30, and sheet returning units 50, 50 are provided. As the control shaft 5 makes one round of rotation, an abutment position and a separated position of a hopper 2 are displaced by the hopper cam 21, an abutment position and a separated position of a paper feeding follower roller 4 are displaced by the follower roller units 40, 41, an abutment position and a separated position of a separation pad 11a are displaced by the separation pad unit 30, and paper returning operation is conducted by the paper returning units 50, 50.
