MULTI-OVERLAPPED ELECTROCHEMICAL CELL AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A multi-overlapped electrochemical cell is provided to increase capacity density of the cell, to improve spacial efficiency and to maximize content of electrode active material by overlapping a plurality of full cells and/or bicells. CONSTITUTION: The cell comprises as a constitutional unit the full cell(17) consisting of positive electrode(7) including positive current collector(12) and positive material(14), separation films(15) and negative electrode(8) including negative current collector(11) and negative material(13) in the overlapped structure by multiple full cells. Between each full cells, separation films are interposed. The separation film has a unit length to enclose the cell and is bent outward to continuously fold each cell in Z shape from the first stage to the last stage therein. And excess portion of the film surrounds outer periphery part of the overlapped cell so that it can be interposed between the cells.
