PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently desulfurizing and purifying a quinone compound by an industrially simple method. SOLUTION: This method for efficiently desulfurizing and purifying the quinone compound, characterized by decomposing with an alkali a crystalline salt obtained by reacting a crude quinone compound with hydrogen chloride. The method for efficiently desulfurizing and purifying the quinone compound, characterized by carrying out the reaction of the crude quinone compound with the hydrogen chloride in the presence of an alcohol. The method for efficiently desulfurizing and purifying the quinone compound, characterized in that the quinone compound is isoquinoline.
