The invention relates to a calender intended for calendering a paper or board web (5) arranged to move, the calender at leat two rolls (1, 2) arranged in nip contact, between which the web (5) bieng calendered is arranged to travel, and a belt (3), arranged to travel through the nip formed by the rolls (1, 2), outside the web (5) beside at least one edge of the web, for preventing the rolls (1, 2) from touching each other. The distance of the belt (3) from the edge of the web (5) is altered by means of a guide device (11) while the calender is running. |
